Summary

Decree 77/2000/ND-CP, issued by the Government on 15 December 2000, adjusts the minimum salary, allowances, and living stipends for people receiving salary, allowances, benefits, and stipends. It took effect on 1 January 2001. For take-home pay, pension, and benefit calculations, the central change is the increase in the common minimum salary, which serves as the base for many derived amounts. Article 1 sets out the adjustments applied from 1 January 2001. First, the minimum salary is raised from 180,000 dong per month (set under Decree 175/1999/ND-CP and Decree 10/2000/ND-CP) to 210,000 dong per month, applied to people on salary or allowances funded from the State budget and to employees in enterprises.
