A leading producer of rice and pangasius (tra fish), with border trade and pilgrimage tourism (Sam Mountain). In the 2025 merger it expanded to the coast by absorbing the former Kiên Giang province.

Summary

The Decision and its attached Regulations implement national laws and decrees including the Law on Organization of Local Government (19 June 2015), the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (22 June 2015), the Telecommunications Law (23 November 2009), Decree No. 72/2013/ND-CP (15 July 2013) on management, provision and use of Internet services and network information, and Decree No. 27/2018/ND-CP (1 March 2018) amending certain provisions of Decree 72/2013/ND-CP.
