In the 2025 reorganisation it absorbed the former Ministry of Planning and Investment, adding national development planning, public investment and statistics.

Summary
Decision No. 25/2024/QD-TTg, issued by the Prime Minister on 31 December 2024, repeals wholly or partially several prior Prime Ministerial decisions in the field of land finance. The Decision is issued pursuant to the Government Organization Law, laws on promulgation of legal documents, the Land Law (Law No. 31/2024/QH15 and its amendment Law No. 43/2024/QH15), relevant Government decrees and Decree No. 103/2024/ND-CP on land use fees and land rental. It takes effect on the date of signing.
