A new study funded by ACIAR and IDRC, conducted by researchers from the Health and Agriculture Policy Research Institute (HAPRI) and other experts, has provided the first comprehensive assessment of the pangasius value chain.
HAPRI’s study examines how trade liberalization in Vietnam alters dietary and health outcomes. Building on our exposure-to-trade indices, we use VHLSS data (2002–2020) to quantify how tariff cuts and export growth affect calorie and nutrient intake at home and dining out, underscoring the need for integrated economic and health policies.
