Trade liberalization and nutrition transition: how export influences households’ macronutrient consumption in Vietnam
HAPRI’s study examines how trade liberalization in Vietnam alters dietary and health outcomes. Building on our exposure-to-trade indices, we use VHLSS data (2002–2020) to quantify how tariff cuts and export growth affect calorie and nutrient intake at home and dining out, underscoring the need for integrated economic and health policies.
